Computing is at the very heart of day to day learning at St Michael’s.
We understand the huge role that technology is already playing within the life of a 21st century learner and aim to compliment and challenge this in school life. We use range of technologies across the school which extend from children in Reception programming robots to discover treasure, to Year 6 children using sound and video editing software to create their own highly polished movies. In addition to this, every classroom has an interactive whiteboard and wireless internet so children can engage with technology at every opportunity.
Our most recent development is the use of iPads in the school and already we are having a great time exploring the endless ways that they can be used to support and extend learning.
We’ve just launched our e-safety awareness programme. Here’s what the year 6’s had to say about it
Hannah: all the games were really fun and it made you think instead of just being told
Jemma: it made me feel safe on the computer
Katie: it was really good because it made it exciting and fun
Toby: I learnt that you should never press a pop-up!
