How We Do It

How We Do It

Of course we have our old favourites– the ever popular Safari Supper, Bag2school, coffee mornings, 2nd hand uniform sales, after-play refreshments and lolly Friday.

We also have our little known Virgin Money Giving Website, which enables us to claim 25% gift aid on any donations made to us.  Donations can be made at any time – there doesn’t have to be a specific event running!

We recently launched the time bank, where you can donate as much or as little of your time to weed, prune, sweep, dig or paint! Very sociable activities usually ending up with a picnic on The Green or lemonade in the pub!

We try to deviate from traditional Christmas and summer Fairs.

December 2012, saw all day family entertainment provided by way of a synthetic ice rink and Peter the Penguin. A highly ambitious event, sponsored by local business and private donations.

In June 2014, our summer event was themed round the World Cup, with the children learning to Samba and entertaining us with a flash dance. With a marquee on the field housing a bar and bar-b-q,  bouncy castles and pony rides, we raised just under £3k.  A thoroughly enjoyable day.

This current academic year, we have again set ourselves a target of £10,000.  With the Safari supper, a school disco the Christmas fair and the return of Happy’s Circus in June, we’re confident that this can be achieved.

We’re aiming to boost our income this year through corporate matched funding and applying for grants.  If you work for or know of a charitable organisation that may be able to help us, please speak to one of the committee.

Every little helps….

For a small donation, we also have assets that you can “borrow!”

We have 3 decent sized gazeebos which we’re happy to loan out at any time.  They’re not waterproof but are very handy for those long hot summer days when you’re hosting a family sized bar-b-q!  For just a £5 donation, made through our Virgin Money Giving Website, you can keep your guests cool and the P.S.A receive £6.25!

We also have access to a bouncy castle.  We can’t officially hire it out, but it too can be borrowed, again for a donation through the Virgin Money Giving Website.  It can hold about 10 children comfortably, has a small slide and sides.  Please contact any of the P.S.A if you would like to know more details.
